ePassport Distribution Starts in December 2019

The Department of Immigration and Passports (DIP) will try to deliver ePassports, from December 2019 to expedite migration and traveling internationally,

The ePassport has inserted an electronic microprocessor chip including biometric data used to verify the identification of the carrier.

Bangladesh's government has made an agreement with Germany about ePassport in 2018. ePassport will be printed in Germany. Initially, Germany will print around 2 million passports until 2028.

There will be a factory to print ePassport in Bangladesh. Most probably at Uttara.

Initially, the passport will be delivered from Dhaka city and the distribution of MRP Passport will continue from all other regional passport across the country.

Hopefully, this year, we'll get the most awaited ePassport.
